Fishing Olympics at Gemstone Farm

In support of Connecticut Special Olympics, Kaz Outdoors and Gemstone Farm are hosting another fishing derby at Gemstone Farm!

Get your rods and reels ready as Gemstone Farm is thrilled to host the First-ever Fishing Olympics! This is a community wide event where everyone is welcome to come, cast a line, and compete for some incredible prizes! Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a fishing rod for the very first time, this day is all about fun, inclusion, and supporting an amazing cause!

Gemstones waters are crawling with a variety of fish including bass, trout, catfish, pickerel, panfish and more! Beyond the fishing, we will have delicious food available for purchase, exciting raffles, and grand prizes! Bring the whole family for a fantastic day of community spirit!

Fishing Rules:

1. Catch & Release: To keep our fish happy and healthy- all fish must be released back into the water after being measured & weighed by a judge

2. Every Fish Counts: Every single catch gets you points! Big or small and regardless of fish species, they all count towards your Olympic score!

3. Good Sportsmanship: Cheer on your neighbors, help out a friend or fellow angler and celebrate every catch!

4. Safety: Life jackets are recommended for the little ones and be mindful of others when casting your line!
